# Email marketing campaigns using Shopify Email

You can create and send emails using Shopify Email from your Shopify admin. You can use default email templates or build your own branded templates so that your emails match your store's aesthetic. You can also select which segment (group) of customers will receive your emails, allowing you to tailor the content you send to the interests of each segment.

Draft emails are saved automatically as you edit, and aren't sent until you confirm that the email is ready.

To create a [marketing automation](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/create-marketing/marketing-automations/types#shopify-email-automations) using Shopify Email, such as a welcome email or abandoned checkout email, refer to [*Creating marketing automations in Shopify*](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/create-marketing/marketing-automations/create).

Refer to [Shopify's best practices for email marketing](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/create-marketing/shopify-email/best-practices) for a full list of content suggestions, design tips, and strategies.
